Cherry Turnovers


1 Stir N Roll Pie Crust or another double pie crust
4-5 cups fresh or frozen pitted tart cherries
4 TBS arrowroot powder or quick tapioca
1/2 cup sucanat or fructose
1/4 tsp almond extract (opt)


1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
2. In a large bowl stir together the sweetening and arrowroot or tapioca. Add cherries and almond flavor
3. Gently toss until coated
4. Meanwhile make and roll pie crust 1/8″ thick
5. Cut into 5-6″ circles or squares
6. Place 3-4 TBS cherry filling in center of each circle
7. Fold in half, seal edges with tines of fork
8. Prick top or cut slits
9. Place turnovers on non-stick baking sheet and back for 25-30 min or until golden brown
